The government imposed strict restrictions on Thursday (July 1) from 8am to midnight on July 8. A notification was issued by the Cabinet Division on Wednesday (June 30) imposing restrictions.

Strict these restrictions which will remain closed

  • All types of public transport (including domestic flights).
  • All government, semi-government, autonomous, and private offices.
  • All shops including shopping mall/market.
  • All tourist centers, resorts, community centers, and recreation centers.

Which will continue

  • Banks, industries
  • Trucks/lorries / covered vans/cargo vessels, rickshaws engaged in transporting goods.
  • International flight.
  • Ports (air, sea, naval, and land).
  • Food shop, hotel restaurant (8 am-8 pm).
  • Raw market and necessities (sold in open space)

In a Notice issued by the Cabinet Division, it was informed that restrictions have been imposed on July 1 (Thursday) from 8 am to midnight on July 6, adding 21 conditions considering the current situation of coronavirus-borne disease (Covid-19).

সব সরকারি, আধা-সরকারি, স্বায়ত্তশাসিত ও বেসরকারি অফিস।

শপিংমল/মার্কেটসহ সব দোকানপাট।

সব পর্যটন কেন্দ্র, রিসোর্ট, কমিউনিটি সেন্টার ও বিনোদন কেন্দ্র।


যা চালু থাকবে

ব্যাংক, শিল্প-কারখানাসমূহ

পণ্য পরিবহনে নিয়োজিত ট্রাক/লরি/কাভার্ড ভ্যান/কার্গো ভেসেল, রিকশা।

আন্তর্জাতিক ফ্লাইট।

বন্দরসমূহ (বিমান, সমুদ্র, নৌ ও স্থল)।

খাবারের দোকান, হোটেল-রেস্তোরাঁ (সকাল ৮টা-রাত ৮টা)।

কাঁচাবাজার এবং নিত্যপ্রয়োজনীয় দ্রব্যাদি (উন্মুক্ত স্থানে বিক্রি)।

Which has 21  'strict lockdown' conditions

1. All government, semi-government, autonomous and private offices will be closed.

2. Public transport (including domestic flights) and all types of motorized vehicles will be closed on roads, railways, and waterways.

3. All shops including shopping malls/markets will be closed.

4. All tourist centers, resorts, community centers, and recreation centers will be closed.

5. Such social gatherings (post-wedding ceremonies-walima, birthdays, picnics, parties, etc.), political and religious ceremonies will be closed.

6. The Bangladesh Supreme Court will issue necessary directions to the courts. 

7.Bangladesh Bank will issue necessary instructions to ensure banking services.

8. Law and order and emergency services, such as agricultural products and materials (fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, agricultural machinery, etc.), transportation of food grains and foodstuffs, relief distribution, healthcare, Covid-19 vaccination, revenue collection activities, electricity, water, gas / Employees and vehicles of offices dealing with energy, fire service, telephone and internet (public-private), media (print and electronic media), private security systems, postal services, banks, pharmacies, and pharmaceuticals and other essential goods and services. 9. Trucks/lorries / covered vans/cargo vessels engaged in the transportation of goods will be exempted from the ban.

10. Ports (air, sea, sea, and land) and related offices will be exempt from this prohibition.

11. The industries will continue to operate under their own management following the hygiene rules.

12. Raw bazaars and daily necessities can be bought and sold in open space from 9 am to 5 pm following hygiene rules. The concerned trade organization/market authority / local administration will confirm the matter.

13. No one can go out of the house in any way except for urgent needs (purchase of medicines and daily necessities, medical services, burial/burial, etc.). Legal action will be taken against those who disobey the instructions.

14. Vaccination cards can be used to travel for vaccination.

15. Food shops, hotels, and restaurants will be able to sell food (online / takeaway) from 8 am to 8 pm.

16. International flights will continue and foreign passengers will be able to travel using the car by displaying their international travel tickets.

16. The Ministry of Religious Affairs will give instructions regarding prayers in the mosque following the hygiene rules.

16. Under the 'Army in Aid to Civil Power' provision, the Armed Forces Department will deploy the required number of troops to ensure effective patrol at the field level. The district magistrate will confirm the matter by contacting the local army commander.

19. The district magistrate will hold a coordination meeting with the concerned officers at the district level to determine the jurisdiction, method, and time of recruitment and patrol of army, BGB, police, RAB, Ansar. At the same time, if any special activities are required locally, he will take steps in that regard. The concerned Ministries / Departments will provide necessary instructions in this regard at the field level.

20. The Ministry of Public Administration will ensure the appointment of the required number of Executive Magistrates at the field level.

21. The Director-General of the Department of Health will give the district administration and the police force the necessary powers to take legal action on his behalf.

The government had earlier imposed a three-day restriction on coronavirus infection from June 26 due to alarming rates. The ban will expire at 8 am on Thursday.
